Father Jack is a priest of the Archdiocese of Newark, ordained in 1981. He and Father Tom Blind are classmates – ordained together on May 30, 1981 by Archbishop Peter Gerety in Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Father Jack retired from formal active ministry this past September. Prior to this he served as a Parochial Vicar in Saint Andrew’s Parish and Saint Vincent de Paul Parish in Bayonne. He briefly served as a Parochial Vicar in Saint Mary Parish in Dumont before assuming the responsibility of pastoring the parish of Our Lady of Mercy in Jersey City. He served there as pastor for the next twenty years. For seventeen of those years, he also served as administrator and pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows in Jersey City. His last pastoral assignment was that of Director of Pastoral Formation at Immaculate Conception Seminary in South Orange.
Father Jack now lives in residence as a retired priest here at Saint Aloysius. He serves as a “Sunday Associate” at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Oakland and Saint Joseph Parish in Demarest.
