TREE PLANTING MAY 2022
The St. Aloysius Green Team in partnership with the Caldwell Environmental Commission and the Kiwanis Club of Caldwell-West Essex received a six-foot Red Oak tree. Mr. Michael Falciola, a professional arborist, planted this tree in front of the rectory.
On February 5 and 6, 2021, the Green Team held a Fair Trade Chocolate Sale to support farmers in Ghana. Pictured here are Green Team members Ian, Karen and Greg Mattison and Marianne Autorino.
SEASON OF CREATION
On Sunday, October 17, 2021, St. Aloysius Parish celebrated the Season of Creation at the Liturgy of Creation with a blessing of the Pollinator Garden. Pollinator seeds were also distributed. Take a look at some photos in the album at the bottom of the page.
A perspective of natural burials and greener funerals was presented by Mr. Robert Prout and Ms. Julia Prout of the Prout Funeral Home. Members of the parish Green Team and guests were very informed, inspired and motivated! Take a look at some photos in the album at the bottom of the page.
ENVIRONMENTAL OPEN HOUSE
The St. Aloysius Green Team participated in an Environmental Open House at the Caldwell Public Library on November 13, 2019 with three other faith institutions and the Caldwell Environmental Commission. Each group set up kiosks to promote their efforts to increase sustainability. Take a look at some photos in the album at the bottom of the page.
On December 4, 2018 the Caldwell Environmental Commission presented the Sustainability Award to the St. Aloysius Green Team in gratitude for encouraging the parishioners of St. Aloysius to be more aware of environmental issues and to become more sustainable in their daily lives. This award was given in the presence of Mayor Dassing and the Town Council! Congratulations Green Team!
